Ascocentrum semiteretifolium

Ascocentrum semiteretifolium

Found in Thailand as a cool to warm growing epiphyte that blooms in the fall and winter with up to 10 flowers on an axillary inflorescence. Ascocentrum semiteretifolium is one of the small-flowerd epiphytes suitable only for the staunchest enthusiasts of thermophilic '' Vanda-like' Asian orchids; besides being inconspecious ,they are very difficult to cultivate.A.semiteretifolium also differs its closest relatives in its sparse, fleshy lesves that are almost orbiculate in cross-section. Some times partly open flowers, 0.4in/1cm in size , grow in sparse short inflorescences and are puple red, with a tinge of white on the outside. Grow them as you would the previously mentioned species . A. semiteretifolium blooms between February and april and comes Thailand.
