Brassia bidensFlower Size 1 1/2" wide [3.75 cm] Brassia bidens commonly known as The Two-Toothed Brassia is a species of the genus Brassia and are of singular beauty - This orchids flowers assume truly extraordinary propotion and appearance. and also has lovely colors and fragrance typical of the genus, thus making this a favourite among orchid lovers. The species Brassia bidens is a lithophytic (see photo) or epiphytic orchid with egg-shaped , elongated yellowish pseudobulbs that are up to 3.2 in /8 cm long. Some 3-8 flowers grow on each erect wiry spike. The yellowish tepals covered with pale brown spots are ,as with the rest of the genus, extended, with thick lining. The lip is whitish and looks rather unexciting compared to the other flower parts. The plant blooms in the winter and spring, The original home of this orchid is in Venezuela and Colombia.
