Brassia mexicana commonly known as The Marked Brassia is a warm to cool growing terrestrial species which is found in Mexico and blooms on a 12" [30 cm] long, suberect to arching, many flowered inflorescence with fragrant flowers occuring in the spring and summer. The feature that significantly distinguishes Brassia mexicana from the rest of the genus are the solid purple-brown extended spots at the base of its tepals ,and a few dark purple spots assembled in the center of the whitish lip. The appearance of the green parts ,coupled with the ecological and cultivation needs of the species,make it a typical representative of the genus. Brassia mexicana blooms in the spring This nice Brassia has large flowers that are a uniform pale yellow-green color. The original home of this orchid is Mexico.
