Bulbophyllum sessile commonly known as The Close Sitting Bulbophyllum [refers to the flowers] a cool to warm growing epiphyte on trees in open forest with a long fractiflex rhizome that has far spaced psuedobulbs with single flowers appearing along and held close to the stem in between the psuedobulbs occuring in the summer and fall Bulbophyllum sessile is mainly found in evergreen lowland forests on terminal branches and twigs in the upper canopy at elevations around 1000 meters The original home of the ochid is Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Burma, Malaysia, Sulawesi, the Molouccas, Sumatra, Borneo, New Guinea, Java, the Philippines and Fiji
