cattleya forbesii

C.forbessi is one of the bifoliate Cattleya orchids, and its small proportions make it suitable even for collections limited in space. The pseudobulbs are no more than 10 in /25 cm tall ,and bear 1-5 tough flowers(up to 4 in /10 cm in diameter) on erect flower spikes . The lip is white and wavy on the edge, yellow on the outside and shot with red venation on the inside. The tepals are olive -yellow . Cultivation couldnot be easier . The plants bloom eagerly between July and October. C. forbesii is native to Brazil.
