cattleyopsis lindenniC.lindenni is quite rare in cultivation . This is ascribed mainly to its slow growth (in other words ,limited opportunity for vegetative propogation). The species forms a thick and tough tangle of tiny oval pseudobulbs with tough thickned serrated foliage. The plant parades its showy pale pink flowers that never fully open,on a long , and oftern branched ,wiry spike. The very durable flower is dominited by an underhung tubular lip with a fimbriated, frilly edge that somewhat resembles the genus Cattleya (hence the Latin name of the species ). Cultivation is somewhat complicated , as the species loves light and suffers a lot in winter. It should therefore be kept in a temperate environment at that time. It blooms in late summer and in the fall, and comes from Cuba and other islands in the Caribbean.
