coelogyne-massangeanaThis orchid resembles the species C . dayana in appearance. It has an pproximately 32 in 80 cm long ,overhanging flower spike that bears 15-20 wide-open ,yellowish white flowers with a fine browinish marking on the lip. At first glance, the inflorescence seems to be growing out of the base of a mature pseudobulb , but apperances are deceptive ; the flower stalk is in fact formed at the appex of a peculiar leafless shoot with a tiny, dwarfed pseudobulb at the end (a heterant inflorescence). The leafless shoot ceases to develop after the flowers fade, but it remains a live for up to several years , cached in a cluster of ordinary vegetative pseudobulbs . Cultivation rules are the same as with C. dayana .C. massangeana orginated in thailand ,Java,Sumatra and Boneo.
