This species ''space-saving ''dimensions, modest demands and beautiful flowers make it ideal for cultivation. However , its cultivation value has not yet been fully recognized,and it is rarely included in collections. This is a fact even though the species was first described as far back as 1822. The elliptic pseudobulbs of this epiphyte reach up to 3.2 in /8 cm in height ,the apical leaves (1-2)are 6-10 in /15-25 cm long . The horizontally projected flower spike reaches a length of 8 in /20 cm and bears 3-6 showy white flowers that do not exceed 1.8 in /4.5 cm in diameter. The flat snow white lip is decorated in the throat with an impressive orange -to -yellow marking . tThe species is ecologically very adaptive. Grow it as you would C. lactea. The plant is in bloom between February and April ,and inhabits a large area including the Himalayas ,Nepal ,Burma,Laos and Thailand.
