dendrobium-capillipes

A beautiful miniature with pansy -shaped ,sulfur-yellow flowers . The small and very thick pseudobulbs are up to 2 in/5cm long and arranged in thick ,compact racemes numbering many pseudobulbs. The flowers grow on thicn spikes ,1-2 on each ,from the apices of the completely barren pseudobulbs. If cultivated in the Temperate Zone ,the plants find it hard to keep''in shape'': they do not ''get fat'',as could be expected, but the lack of light causes them to extend ,grow thinner ,and makes them unwilling to bloom. With well-wintered plants, you can expect the flowers to appear between March and April. The species was discovered in northeastern India,Burma,Thailand,China and Vietnam.
