dendrobium-chittimae

A smaller species , interesting mainly for the collectors of dwarf orchid curiosities that have interesting flowers . The pseudobulbs are extended to resemble a stick ,they are thin and thickly foliaged . Flowers appear in the individual internodes ,always one in each . They are up to 1 in 2.5 cm in diameter,cream-white with a remarkably frilled end of the purple -yellow cone-shaped lip. This semi-deciduous to deciduous species has no special cultivation requirements. It blooms between February and March,and comes from Thailand and other countries of southeastern Asia.
