dendrobium-chrysotoxum

The goldish ,spindle-shaped pseudobulbs are grooved lengthwise . They are ended by two (or even three)extended oval tough leaves. The flower stalk grows out of the apex of the pseudobulb and is covered with up to 20 flowers. The flowers are yellow, the lip orange-and-yellow with a frilly edge. Its anatomic differences sometimes classify the species as a member of the genus Callista. This orchid is not hard to cultivate ,just make sure to provide it with a rather long and warm resting period in the winter. The inflorescence appears sooner than with related species -as early as December. The geographical range is extensive and includes southern China ,the Himalayas,Burma,Thailand and Laos.
