dendrobium-densiflorum

A spectacular orchid that is unfortunately rather bulky . Its slim ,club-shaped pseudobulbs bear 4-5 leaves and are up to 16 in/40 cm tall;after a period of rest ,a robust overhanging compact raceme of yellow flowers grows out of their apex . The flowers are orange-and- yellow with a velvety lip. Grow the plant epiphytically or in flowerpots,as you would the other deciduous Dendrobium orchids. The inflorescence appears between March and May (or even August and September) and the species' habitat consists of the Himalayas ,Burma and Thailand.
