This orchid species resembles D. densiflorum in appearance and cultivation requirements ,and it is somewhat smaller. The shape of the receme bearing up to 20 flowers and the shape of flowers are also identical ; however , the tepals are whitish ,except for the orange -and -yellow base of the velvity lip. The flowers appear between February and May . The plant is native to the lower alitituded of the Himalayas ,Burma and Thailand.
