dendrobium-findlayanum

dendrobium-findlayanum

This plant is a plasure for the eye of many a lover of epiphytic curiosities ,even when it is not in bloom . It has curiously shaped , deciduous pseudobulbs that are 8-10 in/20-25 cm long and whose individual pearshaped links-narrowed at the base and extended at the apex-overlap. Moreover ,the species produces very pretty flowers that appear on the terminal joints , 1-2 on each . The wild lip on each flower has a noticable orange -and - yellow spot in the middle . There is one drawback connected with the cultivation of this species . It requirs a great deal of light . Insufficient light oftern causes the pseudobulbs to assume a traditional shape , which causes deformities ,extensions etc . D. findlayanum blooms between February and April and it comes from Thailand , Laos and Burma.
