Although the world of orchids is immensely diverse,it would still be hard to find many plants whose flowers surpass in beauty those of D. harveyanum ,whose yellow petal edge and round lip are lined with gorgeous long frilling . Moreover ,the gullet of the lip boasts a deep yellow spot . It is just a shame the flowers do not last very long ! The semi-deciduous and partly overhanging pseudobulbs are 12 -16 in/30 -40 cm tall,with sparse overhanging racemes growing out of their apical joints . Grow them as you would the other Dendrobium orchids that require a considerably dry and cool vegitation break . The species blooms between April and June and comes from Thailand, Burma and Vietnam.
