dendrobium-pulchellum

A very pretty orchid when in bloom ;outside of the flowering period,it does not differ in appearance from other deciduous Dendrobium orchids with long and narrow pseudobulbs. Somewhat out of the ordinary ,the flowers grow abundantly in an overhanging raceme at the end of the pseudobulbs. They are white or cream -yellow ,with a hairy ,velvety lip embellished with two impressive crimson spots. The plant blooms between February and April,both in cultivation and in the wild(India,Burma,Malaysia,Indochina).
