This species' narrow ,egg-shaped pseudobulbs reaching lengths of upto 5.2 in /13 cm bear a couple of belt-shaped leaves. The flower raceme is approximately 12 in /30 cm tall and consists of many 2.4 in /6-cm -large flowers. The yellowish green tepals are covered with a showy pattern of brown spots ,the lip is extended in to a mauve tip . This species is not difficult to grow even for amateures ;you can either mount it on a wooden slab or cultivate the plants in a highly permiable substrate in flowerpots. It blooms between May and July and comes from Costa Rica.
