This plant is so close to L. autumnalis in appearance that ,for a while ,scientists considered it a natural hybrid of L. anceps. It has vividly purple star-shaped flowers ,with a beautiful golden-yellow lip with purple venation-the nicest flowers of the entire group of long -stemmed Mex ican species. Its cultivation requirements are not different from those of its closest relatives . It blooms in the winter and also comes from Mexico.
