This species is a highly valued ,beautiful ,''pedigree'' representative of the genus . Its small proportions make it cultivation -frindly;the egg-shaped unifoliate pseudobulbs are 1.2-2in/ 3-5 cm long ,the single narrow leaves reach lengths of 6 in/15 cm. The flowers growing on a sparse,short flower raceme are characterized by a regular roundness. their shiny white tepals provide a wonderful backdrop for crosswise brown spots surrounding the center of the flower. Grow it in cool conditions through out the year. The plants need a maximum possible amount of light,which renders them'' difficult'' collection species. Flowers can be expected between November and March. The plant comes from Mexico and Guatemala.
