lemboglossum-cordatum

lemboglossum-cordatum

In the 1980s ,the orginal genus of Odontoglossum was split up in to many genera, such as Lemboglossum, miltonioides,Osmoglossum,or Ticoglossum . To this day ,however, many species that were then transffered to one of these new genera are still listed in orchid literature under their old generic name Odontoglossum, which may cause some confusion . The species L. cordatum has egg-shaped,2-4 in /6-cm-long pseudobulbs ended with a single narrow leaf reaching a length of 8 in /20 cm . The sparse flower raceme consists of 5-8 flowers with a variable length of their pointed tepals . Their yellow color complemented with brown spots. Grow it in the same way as Ticoglossum Krameri . The plants bloom between June and August in foggy alpine forests of Mexico,Guatemala,Honduras and Costa Rica.
