Miltonia clowesii

Miltonia clowesii

The appearance of its green parts makes M. clowsii look like the previous species; unlike M. candida ,this species has a flower raceme that reaches a length of up to 20 in /50 cm and bears 5-10 flowers. The lip is purple with a tinge of white and typically shaped like a violin . The species is likeables not only in appearance ,but also when it comes to cultivation . The best way to cultivate it is epiphytically on a largish support ,in order to give the delicate ,decorative roots on its fast-growing and eagarly branching rhizome ample oppertunity to grow over the slab . Keep the clusters in a mederately moist and semi-shady environment . A winter rest break is unnecessary . The flowers appear between September and November. The plant is native to brazil.
