Neofinetia falcata

This genus Neofinetia includes one species that look like a miniature version of an Angraecum or Vanda species . Its stiff,barely 4-6 in/10 -15 -cm-long stem bears two raws of tough leaves reaching lengths of 2.8 in /7 cm . Some 2-7 snow-white flowers appear on rather short flower spike and are remarkable for their forward -bent spur that can be up to 1.6 in/4 cm long. In the wild ,N. falcata grows epiphytically ,but it can also be grown in a medium-coarse substrate in flowerpots . It requires the highest possible amount of light ,but also a cooler environment and a winter rest. In the past , the plant was used to create hybrids with the genera Vanda,Ascocentrum ,and even Phalaenopsis . The flowers appear between June and August. The species grows in an untraditional area-Korea and Japan.
