Oncidium barbatum

One of the members of the vast genus Oncidium that have a '' classic '' look and are interesting to cultivate . It forms at least 2.4 -in/6 -cm -long . The flower spike bears 6-12 waxy flawers . A three -lobed lip stands out well aganist the twany tepals ,and has a five -toothed ,firmbriated comb speckled with ted dots: moumy(hence the name ''barbatum''= ''beared '' ) . Cultvation of this epiphytic orchid is not complicated : mount the plant on a slab of bark or branch and hang it up in a well -ventilated semi-shady environment. O. barbatum blooms between March and May and was discoverd in Brazil.
