Oncidium crispum

The orchid is highly sought -after by cultivators . Its flowers are colored in an unusual way . The number and size of the flowers provide a stark contrast to the relatively small proportions of the plant. Its bifoliate pseudobulbs are flat,egg-shaped and 2-3 .2 in/5-8 cm tall. The leaves are up to 8 in /20 cm long. The branched ,overhanging inflorescene bears 25 -30m flowers that are up to 2.8 in/7 cm acrss! Their tepals are chestnut brown with yellow edges. The lip is similarly colored with a yellow spot in the center . The species must grown epiphytically , or- inorder to achive a higher number of flowers -in a coarse bark substrate in flowerpots . O. crispum blooms between the fall and spring comes from Brazil.
