Paphiopedilum argusAnother robust and well-growing Venu's shoe . Its showy , light -colored ,marbled leaves are up to 6 in / 15 cm long . Its spike is unsegmented (an important distinguishing feature from the genus Phragmipedium );it bears a single flower and reaches length of 16 in/40 cm . The massive flower is 3.2 in/8 cm across and its dominet feature consists predominently of its diagonally downward drooping petls decorated with dark papillae. As far as cultivation is concerned ,P. argus is a less demanding Venus's shoe that can be recommended to begginers. The species blooms in the spring and comes from the Philipines .
