Paphiopdilum emersonii

This Venu's shoe has an interesting history of discovery- the first specimen bloomed in 1986 aganist all odds culture in California,and the beauty of its showy flowers immediately won the hearts of all cultivators . The species was first described on the basis of specimens ''discovered ''in this way . The plant does not differ much from P. hangianum in the appearance of its flowers and green parts; there are important differences only in the color and shape of the flower staminodium . Likewise ,the species' cultivation demands are quite high . Flowers appear in the spring and the plant comes from the providence of Yunnan ,China.
