Paphiopdilum fowliei

A rather small and certainly not the most handsome Venus's shoe,with relatively little and dull -colored ,but extremely durable flowers . The leaves are 4-6 in/10-15 cm long ; the spike bears one flower and reaches a length os 6-8 in /15 -20 cm . The upper flower sepals is broad and whitish with showy rainbow -like ,purple to green stripes . The petals bear the same coloring and their edges are decorated with dark papillae .In cultivation ,P .fowliei is an undemanding species . It blooms in the spring and comes from the Philippines.
