Paphiopedilum hookerae

Paphiopedilum hookerae

A markedly thermophilic Venus's shoe suitable even for small indoor glass cases with a higher degree of humidity . It is a shame that P. hookerae is so hard to get (which in fact ,is a problem with most botanical species of the Paphiopedilum genus. ) The leaves are marbled and only 6 in / 15 cm long. The stem is 2 in/5 cm longer and bears a single ,medium -sized flower that calls for attention mainly by its two purple petals with metallic luster and delicate dotting . The other flower parts are brownish green . The flowers open between April and June and the plant can be come across in the Borneo rainforests .
