Paphiopedilum leucochilum

Paphiopedilum leucochilum

This species is another example of the disagreement among botanical experts over the taxonamy of the Venus's shoe section of Brachypetalum . According to some botanists , P. leucochilum is an independent species ; others claim it to be a mere local variety of the species P. godefroyae . One way or the other ,it is a very pretty plant with whitish ,red -spotted flowers growing on a short spike . unfotunately ,it is quite difficult to cultivate . Follow the same growing instructions as those applying to P. bellatulum . The plant comes from Thailand,Borneo and possibly also other parts of southwest Asia.
