Paphiopedilum philippinense var. roebelinii

Another representive of the genus with ''twisted ears '' -its flowers are perhaps even more beautiful than those of the P. parishii Venus's shoe are . The appearances of the green parts is very similar in both species . Their yellow -and- red flowers are small ( 2.4 in /6 cm )n and there are 3-6 of them growing on a long spike . Their impressively twisted ,dark-red petals reach lengths of 5.6 in/14 (!) cm. The upper sepal is covered with dark stripes and the whole fantastic flower composition is complemented by a yellow -and-green lip. The plant blooms between June and August. It was discovered in the Philipines .
