Paphiopedilum sukhakulii

Paphiopedilum sukhakulii

The discovery of this species has an interesting history -the first plants bloomed in the 1970 in Europe among the imported specimens of P. callosum. It is a popular species ,quite widespread in collections; its possitive qualities have been frequently used by breeders in the past twenty years . Its marbled leaves are only 8 in /20 cm long and the one -flowered spike is 8-10 in /20-25 cm tall. The main pride of the large flowers (up to 4.8 in / 12 cm across) is a pair of markedly broadended and elongated lively green petals .Their surface is covered with tiny dark spots . Grow the species like P. callosum . The flowers appear during a long stretch of time - between March and November . The plant comes from Thailand .
