Phalaenopsis amboinensis

All the botanical species of the genus Phalaenopsis require warm conditions and above -average air humidity ; this quality makes them rather unsuitable for open -grown cultivation in apartment . Unless you own atleast a small indoor glass case or other equipment ,in which the plants needs could be satisfied ,it is better to grow the large-flowered multiple hybrids instead,as they are muchmore resistant .P. amboinensis is one of the large -flowered species ;its leaves are up to 10 in / 25 cm long ; its yellow flowers with pronounced crosswise spots reach 2 in / 5 cm in diameter . This epiphyte blooms between April and August and comes from humid jungles of Ambon and Ceram .
