Phalaenopsis chinensisThe genus Pholidota is a close relative of Coelogyne orchids. P. chinensis has slim ,oval pseudobulbs reaching lengths of 2.4 in /6cm and bearing two leaves . The individual flowers ,about 0.8 in /2 cm across and colored in whitish beigh ,do not have much decorative value but they are crowded in great numbers on a decorative overhanging tail-like inflorescence . The flower spike develops simultaniously with a new shoot . P. chinensis is an undemanding epiphyte with medium -strict light requirements . It can be cultivated on a wooden support or in a suspended perforated flowerpot . It blooms between March and May and its habitat is in southern china and northern Vietnam .
