Renanthera matutinaCommon Name - The Early Blooming Renenathera As witha lot of its intergeneric hybrids ,members of the genus Renanthera are popular mainly in commerical cultivation farms in the south of the U.S.A .,Hawaii and the Malayan Peninsula. The plants are grown there over large areas under the open sky in order to produce attractive cut flowers . Hybrids with the genus phalaenopsis ,endowed by the genus Renanthera with a red color ,branched inflorescence and robust proportions ,are considered especially valueable . In Europe ,this genus is cultivated quite rarely ,although the very first epiphytic orchid ever to bloom on the old Continent was the species Renanthera coccinea ! Renanthera matutina has yellow and red tepals covered with brick-red spots ;otherwise it does not differ in appearance or cultivation requirements from the previous species . Renanthera matutina blooms from Thailand ,Malaysia ,Java and Sumatra .
