Common Name - The Small Lance-Head Rodriguezia

The Latin name of the species captures one special quqlity of its flowers : they are all arranged unilaterally -secundly -that is ,distributed only on one side of an overhanging flower spike . The pseudbulbs of Rodriguezia secunda species are bi-or trifoliate ,1.6 -2.4 in /4-6 cm -long ,while the medium stiff,thin leaves reach lengths of 6 in /15 cm . The flowers range in color between pink and crimson . Numorous delicate aerial roots further enhance the decorative appearance of the plant . Rodriguezia secunda orchid covers a vast geographical area- its various forms are reported to grow in both Central America (Panama,Trinidad ) and South America (an area bordered by Colombia and brazil ).
