Stanhopea sp

The pseudobulbs of this rarely cultivated unclassified orchid (passibly an atypical variety of the species Stanhopea wardii ) are a characteristic feature of the geinus -i.r ., egg-shaped with a slightly elongated tip. They bear single ,lengthwise extended elliptic leaves with a multiple lengthwise waving that reach length of 14 in /35 cm . Stanhopea sp inflorescence consists of 2-5 succulent yellowish white flowers with a yellow lip and sparse dark dots . All the flower parts are fleshy. Stanhopea sp lip has a complex morphology ;Expert botanists distinguish three parts on the lip: hypochile ,mezochile and epichile . For cultivation ,follow the instructions for Stanhopea martiana . Stanhopea sp plant blooms in late summer and occasionally also in early spring ;it comes from Ecuador and Colombia .
