Trichocentrum tigrinum commonly known as the Tiger-Like Trichocentrum is a medium sized epiphyte. This species is the best known of all Trichocentrum orchids . It resembles Trichocentrum pulchrum in appearance ,but its leaves are speckled with red dots .Its whitish tepals are thickly covered with red and brown spots . Their dark color provides a stark contrast to the broad lip that is white on the end and purple and red turning in to yellow on the base. The whole genus is not only very attractive but also easy to cultivate .

Trichocentrum tigrinum Orchid prefers a rather humid and well ventilated environment and can be grown on a piece of bark or in a pot. The plants do not stagnate in the winter and as a result they require watering even during winter.

Trichocentrum tigrinum usually bollom between July and october and is native to Ecuador and northern Peru in seasonally dry forests on the western slopes of the Andes
