Vandopsis lissochiloides is a giant sized, lithophytic or terrestrial, monopodial orchid Representatives of the small genus (a total of 12 species ) resemble the orchids from the genera Vanda and ,especially ,Arachnis . From the latter genus,vandopsis orchids differ in the absence of a spur on the lower part of their lip with an elongated leafy stem carrying distichous, sword-shaped, coriaceous, conduplicate, clasping basally leaves that blooms mostly in the summer on an erect, 8' [240 cm] long, subterminal inflorescence with many [12 to 30] fragrant long-lasting flowers.

Vandopsis lissochiloides's beautiful and durable flowers the yellow tepals are thickly covered with brown and red spots and they are thickly covered with brown and red spots and they are purple on the out side ;the small lip has a purple tip. They have great potential for both cultivation and breeding ,but so far they are still rare in cultivation . The spike of V.lissochiloides reaches a length of over 3.3 ft /1m and is foliaged with thin leaves reaching lengths of up to 20 in / 50 cm . The inflorescence is erect and bears 10-20 blossoms that are 2.4 -2.8 in/6-7 cm in diameter.

Vandopsis lissochiloides's original home is the Philipines ,New Guinea ,the Moluccas and also Thailand.
