white helleborine or Cephalanthera damasonium was previously known as Cephalanthera latifolia. This Narrow leaved Helleborine has elegant, long pointed leaves and pure white flowers which stands out from the stem, it has a lip with three ridges on the epichile, and a twisted ovary. "white helleborine species reaches a maximum height of about 60 cm's and has up to 16 flowers. White hellebhorine is relatively common in south-east England on the North and South Downs and the Chilterns, west to Somerset, Devon and south-east Wales. Flowering period is from May to July. white helleborine prefers Shady woods, particularly beech on chalk soils with minimal ground cover.
