Leaves 4-7 by 1-2 in., loosely sheathed .Scape 2-3 in., stout ; spike as long , ovoid ; flowers subglobose , globrous or sparsely pilose , white or straw-cold .; bracts equaling the ovary , lowest longest . Capsule 1/3 in ., ellipsoid .-major , Lindl. in Bot. Reg. 1847,t. 23 , is only a large specimen.
