hook .f. ; pale tomentoes all over , rhizome very stout with short 3-7 leaved branches , leaves linear –lanceolate subacute thickly coriaceous , scapes 1-2 terminal lax-fld., bracts small , flowers small coriaceous , lateral sepals broad obtuse , petals linear subacute , lip tongueshaped recurved fleshy tomentose ,side lobes very small . Eria velutina , Thwaites Enum . 299 (not of Lodd. ).

CEYLON ; in the Central Province , alt . 3000 ft., Thwaites .

Rhizome as thick as a swan’s quill , internodes very short ; sheaths wcolly . Leaves 2-4 in., often subfalcate or oblanceolate , midrib distinct . Scape with raceme 3-4 in., suberect ; bracts 1/3 in., oblong , obtuse , woolly ; pedicels very short ; sepals ¼ in.long , yellow . Capsule ½ in.
