Floral Vascular Bundles

There is a progressive reduction in the number of vascular bundles entering the floral axis from the primitive to the advanced forms. In Apostasieae and Cypripedieae, there are six bundles, in Neottieae, Orchideae and some primitive members of Epidenreae three, and in advanced Epidentreae only two bundles.
